What We Do...
Our pilot program is the Benson Peace Village (BPV) in Masbate, one of the poorest Islands in the Philippines. The BPV is a community center and serves as the venue for most of TAP's sponsored projects. It is located in the small fishing village of Bato, Tinaclipan, which is part of the Municipality of Milagros in the province of Masbate. BPV offers free educational and cultural services to the residents of the village and other communities through its various programs. It houses a library and facilities for summer literacy and peace camps. In collaboration with educational and other institutions in the area, BPV adopts a community based holistic approach to human and sustainable community development.
We also reach out to a few villages in the surrounding area. It is our hope to be able to fund the construction of additional "peace villages" in other underserved regions of the Philippines.
